Escape the City, a global community of individuals looking for opportunities to grow their careers in the profit for purpose space, released their first ever ‘Escape 100’ ranking of the top 100 most progressive companies. ClimateCare ranked number one on the list, outperforming over 2,000 participating organisations from around the world.

ClimateCare is proud to have been scored highest, including a 10/10 score in the employee reviews section. ClimateCare, based in Oxford, UK and Nairobi, Kenya, has long been a popular choice for individuals who are committed to helping meet the Net Zero target by supporting organisations who want to turn their climate responsibilities into positive outcomes.

Escape the City scored companies across six criteria: Impact, Planet, Mission, People, Innovation and B-Corp status (ClimateCare is the number one ranked B-Corp in the UK). Each of the criterion had its own scale, which was used to earn points towards the final total score. Factors such as scale of reach, commitment to the UN’s sustainable development goals and innovative impact on their sectors were used in the rankings.

ClimateCare scored 190 out of a possible 200 points thanks to its global reach, purpose-driven mission, committed employees and innovative approach to tackling environmental challenges. One employee commented: “Being part of an intelligent, creative, highly motivated team who know that they get up in the morning to do their best for the planet whilst improving the lives millions of people in the developing world, is a privilege indeed. It’s great to be part of the ClimateCare team.”

Ranking in the Escape 100 is the latest external recognition for the organisation. Earlier this year, ClimateCare won its second Queen’s Award for its work in sustainable development.
