ClimateCare is firmly reinforcing its climate and development vision and strengthening its communications offering to customers with the appointment of senior marketing professional Rhiannon Szmigielski. With 13 years’ experience of delivering strategic marketing campaigns, driving effective sustainability communications and managing corporate brands, Szmigielski joins ClimateCare as marketing director. She will lead its marketing and communications strategy, as the company continues on its dynamic journey following its recent independence from investment bank JP Morgan.

“We continue to take significant strides forward as an independent, profit for purpose organisation, applying our experience and expertise with great energy to tackling pressing climate and development issues,” comments Edward Hanrahan, Director, ClimateCare. “Rhiannon is an excellent addition to our highly experienced team and her appointment reaffirms our commitment to supporting our clients with effective, hard-hitting communications. We are thrilled to welcome Rhiannon to the team and I am confident that her expertise in communicating key sustainability issues and inspiring behaviour change among consumers will be highly valuable to the next phase of our progression.”

With an excellent record of inspiring sustainable behaviour among businesses, public sector organisations and consumers, Szmigielski’s experience spans a wide range of sectors, including retail, FMCG food and drink brands, construction and manufacturing. During her six years with recycling and resource efficiency specialist WRAP, she consistently helped corporate organisations to embrace the communications value of their environmental activities, and delivered a string of successful marketing campaigns and events designed to heighten awareness of the importance of sustainable practices. Central to her role at ClimateCare will be supporting its clients in communicating the significance of their carbon offset and CSR programmes to key stakeholders. She will also help to convey the company’s strong focus on being an innovative partner to ground-breaking development projects and articulate the corporate responsibility benefits of supporting sustainable development.

“I’m thrilled to join ClimateCare at this exciting stage in its development,” comments Szmigielski. “The team here is highly motivated and has some truly inspiring results to communicate. I look forward to conveying the many positive environmental, health and socio-economic outcomes of the projects we support, and working with ClimateCare’s clients to maximise the communications value of their sustainability commitments.”

Szmigielski’s appointment follows hot on the heels of ClimateCare’s recent Guardian Sustainable Business ‘Innovation’ shortlisting.
