Wind in Argentinian Patagonia
This wind farm, currently the largest in Argentina, is located in Patagonia, near the Atlantic Ocean, one of the windiest regions in the world. With 43 turbines and 80 MW of installed capacity, it supplies 300 GWh of clean, renewable electricity to the Argentinian grid annually, preventing 190,000 tonnes of CO2 from entering the atmosphere. Reducing the need for fossil fuel-powered electricity helps to safeguard non-renewable resources, avoids local pollution and creates jobs. Meanwhile, strengthening the region’s power generation capacity helps to boost commercial and industrial activity.
